Driven by a deep passion for sustainability and handcrafted artistry, Bradly Mills creates unique, modern wood art using sustainably sourced lumber and eco-friendly hard wax finishes. His commitment to sustainable practices stems from his background in environmental studies, focusing on natural resource management. Years of learning about finite resources have instilled in him a profound respect for the materials the Earth provides and how they are used.

inspiration

Bradly’s work is inspired by his favorite cities and national parks across the country, with a special emphasis on the Midwest and the coastal regions he frequently visits.

Using a variety of shapes and textures, he captures the essence of urban and natural landscapes. Each piece of wood is carefully hand-selected, its unique grain contributing to the narrative—horizontal lines may evoke sunsets on the horizon, while vertical patterns suggest the towering forms of city skyscrapers.

explorations

His recent explorations include both 2D and 3D cityscapes and maritime scenes, with plans to expand into heirloom-quality furniture. These statement pieces are designed to serve as focal points in the home, cherished for generations to come.

Bradly’s journey with woodworking began in childhood when his father introduced him to the craft with a pocketknife and whittling lessons. This early connection grew into a lifelong passion that, with the support of his wife, has evolved into a fulfilling artistic career. Beyond his work as an artist, Bradly is also a dedicated husband and father, sharing his creative journey with his family.

One of the most rewarding aspects of his work is seeing his art through the eyes of others. Crafting pieces that resonate and forge connections with viewers brings him immense satisfaction, as his art becomes a medium for shared experiences and meaningful stories.
